Jerome grew up in the Mobile area but cut his teeth in the education world in New Orleans, La. He was a principal at Joseph S. Clark at the time of Hurricane Katrina and relocated home. He began his career in MCPSS as an intern at Blount in 2005. He became principal at County in 2006 and principal at Blount High School in August of 2009. Jerome believes in the concepts of "The Look, The Feel, and The Act". Jerome thinks that all schools should offer safe and nurturing learning environments. Jerome feels that all students should have equal access to schools, supplies, and facilities. His short term goals include securing funding to better the athletic facilities at Blount. He wants to bring a fieldhouse to the only 6A school, with a stadium, that does not have one.
Jerome's long term goals include securing a doctorate in education and moving to the central office.
