The purpose of the student council is to give students the opportunity to undertake leadership roles within the school community and to enhance the quality of student life by acting as a ‘voice’ in school decisions and planning.
Benefits of Participating
Students should consider this organization because it helps to build character and leadership skills, promotes effective decision-making, helps develop organizational skills, and helps to develop a sense of responsibility. It is also a great opportunity for scholarship awards in leadership.
All applicants must have a 2.5 GPA.
President MUST have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
You must attend ALL Student Council meetings and functions.
You must have no discipline reports on record this year or for the past academic school year.
Freshman applicants must provide written recommendations from three teachers and bring 8th grade report card.
Senior, junior, and sophomore applicants must provide written recommendations from two teachers.
Being a student council officer requires commitment and a willingness to work hard. You will be representing your high school.
