Blount Student Government Association BSGAServing and promoting the individual student and student organizations; unifying all that Mattie T. Blount can be. The purpose of the student council is to give students the opportunity to undertake leadership roles within the school community and to enhance the quality of student life by acting as a ‘voice’ in school decisions and planning. Benefits of ParticipatingStudents should consider this organization because it helps to build character and leadership skills, promotes effective decision-making, helps develop organizational skills, and helps to develop a sense of responsibility. It is also a great opportunity for scholarship awards in leadership. Activities from 2008-2009We are implementing a new Student Initiative for the 2008-2009 School Year. This project wil be called the 5450 Project, which will consist of 3 to 4 stages. We also will be over the Homecoming Activities, Voter Registration, Annual Blood Drives, (with HCAP), and Black History Month (with the MultiCultural Club) Officers IncludePresident- Shantavier Dailey Vice-President-Organization- Kris Campbell Secretary- 1st Secretary- Indya Roberts Sophomore Class President - Quinterris "Q.T." Toppings Vice President - J. Lamar Crumb Secretary - Tiera "Tee Tee" Montgomery Representative Two representatives are selected from each 1st Block class. Requirements:All applicants must have a 2.5 GPA. President MUST have a 3.0 GPA or higher. You must attend ALL Student Council meetings and functions. You must have no discipline reports on record this year or for the past academic school year. Freshman applicants must provide written recommendations from three teachers and bring 8th grade report card. Senior, junior, and sophomore applicants must provide written recommendations from two teachers. Being a student council officer requires commitment and a willingness to work hard. You will be representing your high school.
