UNIFORM GUIDELINES  

ID BADGES

All students are required to wear a 2012-13 Blount High School ID Badge.

SHIRITS  

10TH - 12TH Grade ONLY!

Purple golf shirt {2 to 3 button-style only/must fit loosely in the chest area} or purple button-down (Oxford) shirt; top can be short or long-sleeves; No Lavender Tops; TOP MUST BE TUCKED IN PANTS OR SKIRT AT ALL TIMES

9TH Grade Freshman Academy ONLY!

White golf shirt {2 to 3 button-style only; must fit loosely in the chest area} or white button down (Oxford) shirt; top can be short or long-sleeves; TOP MUST BE TUCKED IN PANTS OR SKIRT AT ALL TIMES

UNDERGARMENT (all grades)

Undershirt must be white; students will be required to take-off undershirts that are a different color and/or long sleeves.  If confiscated, parent must pick up unauthorized garment from the school

PANTS (all grades)

Khaki slacks/pants with belt loops (i.e. Dickies); NO denim (jean material), corduroy, cargo, Capri, or shorts; pants cannot be rolled or folded to a shorter length; NO oversized pants and NO pants below the natural waistline; pants must be worn with a belt;

BELT (all grades)

Plain, solid black only; the belt buckle must not be larger than 1/2 of dollar bill folded in either direction; no ornamentation on belts; BELT MUST BE WORN WITH PANTS

SKIRT (all grades)

Approved plaid or Khaki skirt; the length for each is no higher than 3 inches above the knee in the FRONT and BACK {use the fingertip rule}

SHOES (all grades)

ALL BLACK casual shoes or tennis shoes.  . The entire shoe must be Black.-- NO COMBINATIONS-do not wear shoestrings of a different color -shoestrings must be black.  All black tennis acceptable with black soles, writing, insignia, and strings.

 NO SANDALS, BACKLESS SHOES, HOUSE SHOES, SWIMMING SHOES, OR FLIP FLOPS

SOCKS (all grades)

                Black or white-only solid colors

OUTERWEAR (all grades)

Purple (not lavender), gray, or black fleece or blazer; Solid colors only; or Blount letterman jacket or letterman v-cut sweater; outer garment must come below the natural waistline, but above the knees; no jean jackets, thermal shirts, sweat shirts, or tall t-shirts may be worn; NOTE: HOODED JACKETS WILL NOT BE WORN ON CAMPUS

HEAD GEAR

NO HATS, CAPS, OR BANDANAS ON CAMPUS- These will be confiscated and a parent must pick up the unauthorized headgear.

ACCESSORY COLORS (earrings, necklaces, etc.)

                Purple, white, metallic silver, metallic gold, or black.  No hoop earrings. 

TIES optional

Purple, white, or combination of purple and white neck ties for males and cross ties for females

PREGNANCY ATTIRE

White maternity top (a style is being selected-we will advise of available vendors), black maternity pants or plaid skirt (with stretch panel); oversized regular school uniforms cannot be worn because uniforms must be worn to uniform policy (ex. all shirts must be tucked); shoes must be worn to policy except with a doctor's excuse; no house shoes or flip flops
