Former Blount HCAP Student Follows Medical Pathway

Chynnise Jenkins is a 2009 Graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School. Ms. Jenkins participated in the HCAP program all four years at BHS, and was able to experience the offsite portions of the program during her senior year.
Chynnise says, "I have always known since I was a little girl that I wanted to work in the medical field. The HCAP program has helped me decide the field best suited for me." As a senior, Chynnise was able to shadow in an occupational therapy setting where she discovered her passion.
Ms. Jenkins is currently a senior at the University of South Alabama. While at South, Chynnise has shadowed continually in the occupational therapy field affording her the opportunity to farther expand her learning stretch. Chynnise will graduate from the University of South Alabama in May 2014, with her Bachelor's degree in Health Science. The following semester Chynnise plans are to pursue her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
